Fender Telecaster c1967
Hi there,
I have a Fender Telecaster 1967. Is there a particular model and value to this guitar?
I'm looking at restoring it at as much as possible with original parts.
Thank you.
Best,
Ewan A.S Singapore
ANSWER
Hi, Ewan--
This telecaster was manufactured during Fender's "CBS" era. There is no other model name. Here is the Blue Book description:
TELECASTER (CBS MFG. 1965-1983) - single cutaway ash body with routing channel between the pickups, bolt-on maple neck, "F" stamp on neckplate, 21-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlays (1967-1982) or rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays (1965-69), "Telecaster" logo on headstock with six-on-one-side tuners, STB anchored bridge with three paired-string adj. saddles, white pickguard, two single coil pickups, two knobs (v, tone) and a three-way switch mounted on a metal plate, chrome hardware, available in Blonde finish, mfg. 1965-1982.
The pricing on these guitars is based on original condition. Unfortunately, this guitar appears to be FAR from original. What IS that bridge/tailpiece?
You could restore the guitar, but the value would still be negligible because a restoration is not original.
In case you are curious, here are the Blue Book prices for ORIGINAL:
1967 Mint $10,500 Ex.+ $8,250 Exc. $6,750 Avg.+ $5,500 Avg. $4,600 General $3,750
