ANSWER

Hi, Johnny--

The serial number indicates that your guitar was manufactured in 1982.

Here is the Blue Book pricing info:

5-way
by: Anonymous

Lynne, one more ques. plz., if Fender went back to the 3-way switch in '81 why would MY 1982 have a 5-way??? I'm so confused!!!! LOL!! Thx again, johnny.

Hmmm--I am confused also. Here is the Blue Book info:
1981-83

alder body, 21-fret maple fingerboard with black dot or rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, four-bolt neckplate, small peghead with black logo, vibrato tailpiece, three-ply white pickguard, chrome hardware, three single coil exposed pickups, three knobs (v, two tone), three-position switch, available in various polyurethane finishes, mfg. 1981-83.

So, I guess I don't know LOL

Lynne, thx for the info, I accidentally hit the "do not wish to receive" bar by MISTAKE, do I have to " re-join" to cont. getting messages? Thx, johnny.

Hi, Johnny--

I think that you do--try just submitting another guitar or question or something. If you hit the button on the email for this question, it may only apply to this question.

If you don't get it straightened out, let me know.

5-way switch.
by: Anonymous

Lynne, any idea why this strat would have a 5way switch?? all others seem to have a 3-way, thx, Johnny.

Hi, Johnny--

In 1977, the 5-way selector switch replaced the 3-way switch (according to the Fender Catalogs). They went back to the 3 position in 1981.
