There are 2 strats which were manufactured in that year span. I have no way of knowing which one you have from the serial number. Here is the Blue Book info. on both:

Fender Strat 1984?
by: Anonymous

Hi

I have a Strat from this era with just 2 knobs and the Freeflyte tremolo but mine has a 3 ply pick guard. It also has a rosewood fret board which I believe was not released until 1984. Did they change anything else in 84?

Actually, the Rosewood fret board was introduced in 1959. Here is the rest of the info on the '83-85 models:

STANDARD STRATOCASTER (CBS MFG. 1983-85)
- alder body, 21-fret maple fingerboard with black dot or rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, four-bolt neckplate, small peghead with silver logo, chrome-plated die-cast tuners, "Freeflyte" vibrato tailpiece, single-ply white pickguard, chrome hardware, three single coil exposed pickups, two knobs (v, tone), three-position switch, available in the following Standard Colors: Black, Brown Sunburst, Cherry Sunburst, Natural, Sienna Sunburst, or White finish, and the following Custom Colors: Aztec Gold, Candy Apple Green, Emerald Green, Mocha Brown, Pewter, Ruby Red or Sapphire Blue finish, mfg. 1983-85.

**Add 10-20% for Custom Colors.
This model also featured a vibrato system that was surface mounted and without a vibrato back cavity. Unlike traditional Stratocasters, this model only had two knobs and the 1/4 in. jack took the place of the third tone knob.
