Fender Performer 6 string

The Fender Performer six string guitars were only made for one year (1985-86), and I'd like to know how many were made and what the suggested retail was at the time. Any ideas how to find out? Fender corp in US didn't know, as they claim to not have "active records" going back that far. (...really?)

I was unable to find and information about the production numbers or the original price. What I did find was a lot of people looking for that information...
