Fender Blues Deluxe ve. Marshall MG

by Tony

I use Effect pedals over the clean Chanel on a Marshall MG and the sound is ok. If I buy a fender blues deluxe, my delay, chorus, overdrive, and distortion pedals will sound better?

ANSWER

Hi, Tony--

It all depends on the sound that you want. The MG is a digital amp and the Fender Blues Deluxe is a tube amp.

If you want that vintage sound of two 6L6 Groove Tubes output tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes, then the Fender is definitely the one for you.

You don't mention which Marshall MG model you have. The model will make a difference in the
output. You have to go pretty high in the MG line to get the 40 watts of the Fender amp.

Maybe the best thing to do is pack up your pedals and head to the nearest large guitar store and try out both amps side by side.

After you decide which you want, you might check out the prices in online stores.
