About the Drummer

Matt Cameron was born and raised in San Diego, California. He joined his first band at the age of thirteen.

Previous to playing with Pearl Jam, Matt was the drummer for the Seattle based grunge rock band "Soundgarden".

His current kit is Yamaha Oak Custom and Zildjian Cymbals. He lives near Seattle, Washington.

About This Tab

The tempo is 102 BPM and the song is in 4/4 time with some measures of 2/4.

The Intro has a basic eighth note pattern on the open Hi Hat with some sixteenth notes bass drum kicks and includes a measure of 2/4.

The Verse follows the same basic pattern on the closed Hi Hat with sixteenth notes on the Hi Hat on the third beat.

The Pre Chorus is like the intro but with a very tasty fill at the end.

There is a change of beat on the Chorus with the Ride cymbal taking over on quarter notes and the Bass drum on the offbeats.

Everything remains pretty much the same with some nice fills until Solo, where Matt switches to sixteenth notes on the Hi Hat with an interesting sixteenth note pattern on the Bass drum.

There is an extended Chorus after the Solo and the Outro reverts to the same beat as in the Intro.

If you like Pearl Jam, you will love playing this song. It will require at least intermediate skill or at least the desire to develop to that level.

Lynne
