Clicking Noise When Recording My Guitar

by michael
(texas)

When i try to record myself playing guitar all my camcorder picks up is a clicking noise that drowns out the actual guitar. its hard to tell where the clicking is coming from. i don't know if its from the amp, the guitar, or my position or whatever. do i just need to turn the amp up?

ANSWER

Hi, Michael--

It is difficult to say without actually hearing the noise. You may be hearing the noise from the camera. Try using an external mic and turning the amp up.
