Can u tell the color of drums by their serial numbers?

I recently bought a Tama superstar custom sk drum set; used. I'm having a really hard time trying to figure What color they are. I think its the gun metal fade. But I also think the color is discontinued. One of The serial numbers is 001270 please help: )

ANSWER

Hi, titandrummer--

Unfortunately, there is no way of determining the year of manufacture of Tama drums by the serial number. If we know the year, then we might be able to figure out what colors were available that year.

In recent years, there is no "Gunmetal Fade" finish mentioned. The closest is the "Titanium Fade" finish.
