Hi,I´m 31 years old and recently started playing guitar ( about 2 months ago).I was wondering if I´m too old to become a good guitar player.
Thanks

ANSWER

Hi, Andre--

The answer is a great big NO--NEVER! I have taught students in their 40's-80's with great success. Music is a timeless gift.

Look at it this way--in 20 years you are going to be 51 whether you play guitar or not. Wouldn't you rather have 20 years of guitar playing in your life?

In my experience most good or great players don't talk about it much. Instead they play.

Never too late!

Hey, I started to learn the drums after my son decided he didn't want to play them anymore and I was older than you. Now, I am playing gigs with an all-female band and the best part is our lead guitarist is my daughter.

I too thought I may have been too old to start learning an instrument...but I'm so glad I continued on. The support I receive from younger and older musicians is well worth the effort I put in, and being apart of the 'music community' is a ton of fun.

Continue on and enjoy every moment of it. :-)
