Paiste is proud to team up with the world renowned drummer Joey Jordison of the metal band Slipknot to create Black Alpha Rock China Cymbals. Black Alpha Series features the proprietary ColorSound coating invented and pioneered by Paiste over two decades ago. The Paiste Black Alpha line features the Slipknot Edition, which consists of Joey's personal selection of Alpha models that features the core look and sound of Joey's 2008/2009 touring set.

Alpha Cymbals have been well known for their first-class sound and fair prices since 1992, and feature professional character that fulfills high demands in quality and function. ColorSound is a proprietary coating for cymbals invented and pioneered by Paiste in the 1980s, which optimizes the effect of a coating on cymbal sound and is extremely durable. The Colorsound Coating adds bite to the attack, focuses the overtones and adds raw presence to the overall sound character.

Sound Character: Very bright, full, glassy, and shimmering. Wide range, clear mix. Fairly giving feel. Very strong, cutting, and sturdy crash cymbal for louder playing situations in aggressive musical styles.

Sound Character: Meaty, metallic, focused, dynamic. Fairly narrow range, raw mix. Heavy feel combined with a strong, glassy ping over aggressive, icy wash with subtle undertones. Perfectly suited for extreme volume.

Best cymbals I've ever bought, I used zildjian in the past but have always wanted black cymbals. when I first tried them out, holy cow they are loud, durable, they hold their tone and look great. I've had mine for a couple of years and to this day, they are my number one choice and not a single complaint!!!
