My brother gave me this guitar about 15 years ago, and he got it for 125$ from a barmaid who trade it for beer with a musician that was playing at the bar and he never came back to get it.

So I always knew this guitar was odd, but for some reason just recently I realized I could search on the web about it. I would love to know more about it.

Model ESF375SC
Serial number on the battery 82060214
Stamped date inside with black ink: MAY 31 1982

It is like a F375S but with a cutaway, and stereo.
There are 2 jacks and one switch to toggle the stereo mode 123-456 or 135-246. 3 pieces back just like the F375S, wood binding everywhere as well as wood fret dots. The small pegs that hold the strings at the bottom are also wood. Mahogany neck, with a layer of special wood on the front of the headstock (same wood as the sides and back outer halves). Takamine/Kaman chrome tuners. The bridge have 6 separate pieces, one for each string (probably because it is stereo ?)

Google search returns zero result for this model, and I have not found a single pic of a cutaway Takamine that had the 3 piece back. I would love to know what is the history of that guitar.

Thanks,
Frederik

ANSWER

Hi, Frederik--

I spent over an hour searching and to no avail. This Model is not listed in the Blue Book. The closest is the ESF375. I think that it was most likely a special order.

Feedback from Takamine
by: Frederik

I just got some feedback from the people at Takamine and I thought I should post the details so others can have some information about it. Here is what they said:

That model was available from 1982-85 and featured: Solid spruce top, jacaranda sides, three pc. back with jacaranda and rosewood (middle pc.),mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge,3 band stereo eq.
The last retail price was CA$1000.00 in 1984.We have no info on production totals. The endpin jack is used for mono and the lower one is for stereo. You can effectively run two channels,or amps, through the stereo jack and a separate mono signal (to a monitor system say) from the endpin one all at the same time.
