1982 Fender Elite Stratocaster
by Matt
(Michigan)
Emerald Green with rosewood fret board. It has 3 push button pickup selector buttons (instead of a 5 way switch) which work with (9V) battery operated electronics hidden under the pickguard. Elites also have a fourth pickup under the pickguard between the bridge and middle pickups. The tremelo bridge does not have a back access panel but somehow attaches to small springs under the pickups in a separate cavity(?). Cool but strange, and heavy too! Obviously not adored by the public or they would probably still be making them. However, I'll bet it was a stepping stone to the S1 switching strats of recent times.
Thanks
