1975 Fender Precision Bass

by Nev Kiddier
(Chelmsford, Essex, UK)

I bought this guitar new in 1975 in London whilst playing with the band Glyder and have played it (semi-pro.) as my main instrument ever since.
Mostly original, it has been well looked after, pick-ups have been rewound, last refretted in 2006. Sunburst finish with rosewood fingerboard. I changed the pickguard to a chrome one in 1976 in honour of Phil Lynott. A brass nut was added in 1985. The guitar was used during my time with The UK band The Pinkees and made many early 80's TV appearances inc. TOTP where it can now be seen on youtube. Serial No. 645615

ANSWER

Hi, Nev--

It sounds like your P Bass has been a good friend!

Here is the Blue Book pricing info:

1975-1978

Mint $2,500
Exc.+ $2,000
Exc. $1,650
Avg.+ $1,450
Avg. $1,200
General $1,000

**Any alterations usually diminish the value in the eyes of collectors. In this case, however, the guitar's history will help to offset this effect.
