1973 Fender Stratocaster
Hey there,
I'm looking at purchasing a 1973 Stratocaster. The guitar is sunburst with a maple neck/fretboard. The guitar is all original aside from new Schaller tuners. It would come with the original case as well. The body is near mint with only a couple of small dings in the paint. They are asking $2800 for it. Just wondering if this is a good price or if I should try and haggle a little. Thanks.
ANSWER
Hi, Jason--
Here are the Blue Book values:
1973 Mint $5,000 Exc.+ $4,100 Exc. $3,300 Avg.+ $2,700 Avg. $2,300 General $1,900
The value is affected some by the new tuners, but not as much as,say, a refinishing. If the guitar is in otherwise good shape, I would say that you are getting a VERY good price.
