1972 Gibson SG Custom

I have a (I believe 1972) 1972 Gibson SG Custom Guitar serial#70319077 and was wondering what it is worth?

The serial number comes up as 1979. Gibson serial numbers are, however, not at all reliable. If it has a Bigsby vibrato, then it is 1974 or later. But not ALL 1974--had them.

The Blue Book Prices for the two years are quite a bit different:

1970-1973
Mint $6,500

Mint $2,750

Avg.+ $1,700

Maybe you could take it to a dealer who might be able to tell for sure what year it was manufactured.
