1972 Fender Stratocaster--Left Handed

by garry
(birmingham england)

1972 left handed customized fender strat

Hi, Garry--

The Blue Book does not mention a left handed version available in 1972. Was this part of the "customization" or was it just the bridge pick up that was changed?

The Blue Book prices are for ORIGINAL condition guitars. Any customization will render the guitar not valuable to collectors.

Here is the Blue Book pricing for ORIGINAL condition 1972 Strats:

Mint $5,500
Exc.+ $4,500
Exc. $3,800
Avg.+ $3,200
Avg. $2,700
General $2,300

The customization does not mean that you could not sell it for a good price if you can find the right buyer. It just means that the Blue Book does not value it as a collectors item.

Lynne
