1970-1972 Gibson Dove (factory 2nd)

I bought this guitar in 1974 it was a factory second. I brought along a friend of mine who was a guitar tech. It did not sound good at all, he encouraged me to buy it tell me he could make it sound great.

I bought it and he shaved the braces and it sounded great.
Question is what is it worth, I suspect as a 2nd its not collectible, however it has aged nicely and has a great tone, neck is still fine and it has one slight gouge that it had when I bought it.
What would it be worth if I sell it. I'm not playing much and I want to offer it at a fair price.

Hi, Ellen--

The Blue Book prices are all based on ORIGINAL condition (no alterations) guitars and factory 2nds are not included.

I would, however, from looking at the Blue Book values recommend a selling price from $800. to $1,000.
