1970 Fender Telecaster

by Diane Kirhcner
(Newark Delaware USA)

I am trying to find out what year, and the worth on this quitar. It is in mint condition. Has been kept in the original hard case for over 30 years. Has only been played once or twice. The number on the back is: 288830.

ANSWER

Hi, Diane--

The serial number indicates that your guitar was made at the vFullerton Plant (Fender - CBS Era), USA in 1970.

Here is the Blue Book pricing info:

1970
Mint $6,000
Exc.+ $5,000
Exc. $4,200
Avg.+ $3,500
Avg. $2,900
General $2,400

**Add 20-40% for Blonde finish.

FENDER TELECASTER 1970 WITH ORIGINAL CASE
by: Anonymous

I have a Fender telecaster - 1970 with case that I would like to sell. It plays beautifully and is very good condition. I don't know how much it would be worth. It is in Northern California right now at a store on consignment...but I am thinking I can make more if I sell it directly. Any comments? email me mercytrilenium@gmail.com
Thanks

1970 Telecaster
by: Anonymous

Guys,
I have a 1970 Telecaster I'm looking at placing a value on. It has a 1970 S/N, a '69 body based on original routing, the neck does not have a S/N or date code but has a skunk strip with rosewood fretboard. The pots are '66. The rest of the hardware is original as well. The body has been refinished, possibly the neck but it's hard to say. The pickguard has been replaced. Any ideas of approximate worth would be appreciated.
Thanks
