My father passed down to me a fender jaguar guitar. With some quick research i am under the impression it is a 1967 because the serial no. on the back neck plate 189051 and there is the Fender "F" on the plate as well. From my research i understand that that makes it a CBS era guitar. The patent number on the tremelo plate reads #2,972,923.

ANSWER

Hi, James--

The serial number does indicate that your guitar was made at the Fullerton Plant (Fender - CBS Era), USA in 1967.

Here is the general info:

JAGUAR (U.S. MFG.)
- offset double cutaway asymmetrical alder body, metal/plastic pickguard, bolt-on maple neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, six-on-one-side tuners, string mute, floating bridge/vibrato, bridge cover plate, two single coil exposed pickups, two knobs (v, tone) on lower metal plate, two roller controls and one three-way switch on upper bass metal plate, three preset slide switches on upper treble metal plate, chrome hardware, available in Sunburst, Black, Blonde, or Custom Colors finishes, 24 in. scale, mfg. 1962-1975. In 1966, block fingerboard inlay replaced dot inlay.
