1966 gibson SG special
by Ted
(Houston, Tx USA)
Guitar was "updated" in the '60's with humbuckers, pick guard, grover tuning keys adjustable tail piece bridge. Has snaps on the back from a pad that was used to protect belt buckle. Hard shell case. All in good + condition.
Thanks
ANSWERHi, Ted--
According to the Blue Book, there was no SG "Special" manufactured in 1966. The SG Standard already had humbuckers. As for the rest of the modifications, they will GREATLY reduce the value of the guitar--from $10-12,000 to $5-7000.
Guitar collectors insist more and more upon original condition.
