1964 fender musicmaster bass 641282

1964 fender musicmaster bass

1964 fender musicmaster bass

I think this is the one with a shorter neck. I would like to sell her. I need the blue book.

Hi, Lisa--

The serial number indicates that your guitar was made at the Fullerton Plant (Fender - CBS Era), USA in 1975.

This makes sense because the Music Master bass was not manufactured until 1970.

Here is the Blue Book general info:

MUSICMASTER (U.S. MFG.)
- offset double cutaway asymmetrical ash body, bolt-on maple neck, 19-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, four-on-one-side tuners, fixed bridge, black pickguard, thumb rest, one single coil covered pickup, two knobs (v, tone), chrome hardware, available in Black, Blue, Red, or White finish, mfg. 1970-1983

Is it possible that the pick guard was replaced?
Also--your bass has only one knob. I am wondering if you have more information about this bass--when did you buy it and where? Do you have a guarantee that it is original?

Here is the pricing info from the Blue Book:

1970-1978
Mint $700
Exc.+ $600
Exc. $500
Avg.+ $425
Avg. $375
General $325

Musicmaster Bass
by: Rupret

I'm trying to date my Musicmaster Bass. Most of the parts are now aftermarket, but the neck still has a number stamped on the heel where it meets the body. I've searched about a dozen serial number sites and can't find a match for the number or format:

700 3113

This guitar has the smaller Fender logo, and no serial number on the headstock, along with the smaller triangular machines. Any help you could give me would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rupret
