1962 Gibson ES 330 TD

1962 gibson ES 330 TD
Located just above the tuning pegs is a stamped number 424xx, (I don't want to give all the number so I'm using xx). Also there is also a number 2 stamped above the serial number.
It has dots to signify the frets, not squares, I think that means it's an early 62 model. Also plastic covered pickups. The guitar appears to be all original with nothing to indicate any changes or modifications. Some belt buckle scratches but otherwise in great condition. No case.
What is the value of my guitar?
Thanks,
Ed
ANSWERHi, Ed--
The "2" stamped above the serial number is the way that Gibson used to identify guitars that were factory seconds. This could have been due to some minor imperfection which kept the guitar from passing Gibson quality control.
Gibson has since discontinued the practice of designating factory seconds (probably because the quality control is less stringent).
I could find no information about factory seconds and Blue Book value, probably because the Blue Book values are based on collector demand and collectors are usually not looking for factory seconds.
Here are the Blue Book values for the guitar:
(The dot inlays did not appear after 1961, acc. to the Blue Book)
1959-1961 Dot Inlays
Mint $6,000
Exc.+ $5,000
Exc. $4,000
Avg.+ $3,250
Avg. $2,500
General $2,000
