Hi I have a 1954 Gibson J55 acoustic guitar and am curious as to the value of it. Serial # A004249

Hi, Arthur--

According to the Blue Book, the J55 was not manufactured in 1954. There were two manufacture periods: 1939-1942 and 1972-1982.

When I ran the serial number, it indicated that
Your guitar was made at the Kalamazoo or Nashville Plant,USA in 1973 - 1975.

So, I am a bit confused. Here is the Blue Book pricing for the year indicated by the serial number:

Excellent $1,000 - 1,200
Average $675 - 800
