1944 J-45

Don't have picture. Just looking for general idea of value as I have no idea.
Description:
Very nice refin without pickguard. The guitar is otherwise all original except new bridge and Kluson tuners (just like the originals.) I'm sure the top was repaired as their are no top cracks (as Gibsons are famous for.) and the tone has that sweet old deep bass wood sound. It plays pretty well up the neck in spite of the baseball bat neck sized neck. The Gibson Banner logo is good and clear. Neck is not refin.
Thanks.

ANSWERHi, Darren--
Of course the refinishing and the bridge and tuner replacements are going to affect the value. Collectors value the ORIGINAL condition of the instrument highly. The value may be decreased by as much as 30% just by the refinishing.
Here is the Blue Book pricing info:
1943-1945
Excellent $6,000 - 7,500
Average $3,750 - 4,750
**Another interesting bit of info:
During WWII, Gibson used whatever materials were handy. A mahogany top J-45 will bring about 15% less than above values, but a mahogany back with rosewood or maple sides will bring 15% higher values. Add 25% for maple back/sides. Add a significant premium for rosewood back and sides (rare).
Hope this gives you some idea--
