1941 martin 018
by J Stevens
(UK)
The guitar started life as right handed, It was completely overhawled at Martin in 1990 and fully converted to be a lefty. it is in near perfect condition. Receipt for conversion available and old but not necessarily original case. I have no idea of the value. Do you?
ANSWER
Hi, J--
I can give you the Blue Book Values but they are based on original condition. The change to left hand will diminish the value, but I have no way of knowing how much.
The value of any guitar actually comes down to how much someone will pay for it. Blue Book values are based on what collectors are paying and collectors are looking for original condition guitars.
In any case, here are the Blue Book prices:
1932-1946 Excellent $3,750 - 4,500 Average $2,500 - 3,000
